PSTN Switch-Off Specialists
Your phone line stops working in January 2027. We can fix that.
GKS Internet migrates UK businesses from legacy PSTN to modern broadband and VoIP, without the jargon, without the downtime, and without the runaround. Part of the trusted GKS Consultants family.
Time remaining until the national copper network is permanently decommissioned
What’s happening
The UK phone network is being switched off. Every business is affected.
BT Openreach is retiring the traditional copper telephone network that has powered UK phone lines and broadband for decades. Here is what that means for your business.
Stop-sell notices are already active
Openreach is progressively issuing stop-sell notices exchange by exchange. If your exchange is affected, you cannot renew your existing service when it expires.
January 2027 is the final deadline
All remaining PSTN and ISDN services will be permanently decommissioned. After this date, traditional phone lines simply stop working.
Every business needs a migration plan
Whether you use one phone line or fifty, broadband over copper or fibre — your connectivity needs to move to a modern alternative before the deadline.
Have you had a letter from BT or Openreach?
Many businesses have received migration notices and are unsure what to do next. The options — SOGEA, FTTC, FTTP, VoIP — can feel overwhelming if this is not your area.
That is exactly why GKS Internet exists. We translate the technical into plain English, recommend the right solution for your business, and handle the migration from start to finish.
No jargon. No downtime. No nasty surprises on renewal.
